Floral Tumblr Themes

Yo it's ya girl Salami. 17, cis, f, bisexual. This blog is essentially a strange mix of fandom, feminism, queer stuff, Bi stuff, social justice, and Komaeda.

I want to bring something up to my followers right quick before I log off for the night.

These are some messages that showed up in a dear friend of mine’s inbox. They are in reference to a post about cisphobia specifically.

When you talk about cisphobia, and heterophobia, and claim it doesn’t exist and that majority members aren’t burdened with problems, I want you to remember this post.

These are messages sent specifically for her, to try and trigger her. Now, this particular friend of mine has survived more abuse and hardship than I care to recount, but needless to say, is one of the strongest people I know.

And over one single post, that wasn’t even on her blog to begin with, triggered this nonsense.

Take a good hard look at these. All of them degrade her for being cisgendered. Two of them claim she couldn’t possibly know anything about “struggling.” One is a rather graphic death threat. All over an immutable trait she cannot possibly have helped.

If the situation were reversed and her inbox were filled with “tranny scum fucktard” do you think I would even be having to post this? No. It would have blown up, nobody would have thought twice about it.

But you claim that this is “venting.” That being oppressed somehow grants you the right to be a special breed of hateful. That your struggle grants you the right to tell a self-harm recoverer that she ought to slit her throat, that her struggle is irrelevant.

This is what your movement has become. Take a good, hard look at your brand of “equality.” You should be ashamed of yourselves.

So here you have it.
Maybe finally tumblr will stop putting the trans community on a pedestal and trying them like sweeties that can do now wrong.
Like cisgendered people there are bitter and hateful members, bullies and people with no qualms about trying to trigger someone.

Behavior like this is a slap in the face to supportive cisgendered friends and family. To the people that are involved in programs and call lines that are there for young trans people.

Actually seeing as it’s “just venting” I dare you to go and walk up to your cis friend’s face and call them “fucktard and scum” tell them to go kill themself. I mean after all, you’ve earned this right to be venomous and cruel to people,.
What? You wouldn’t do that? Why? Because they are your friend and have only ever been good to you? That you acknowledge that maybe some cis people are good?
So why is it OfuckingK to do it to a stranger on the internet?
It’s fucking not!

You have literally just become the scum of the earth. Trying to trigger someone, coerce someone to kill themself - a felony btw .
Because of people like that my trans friends are scared to tell people they are trans not because of transphobia but because now they are associated with a bunch of hatefully cunts like that anon!

or MAYBE saying you’re “proud of being cis” is really fucking similar to saying you’re “proud of being white” (AKA you’re a discriminatory asshole and you’re proud of it!)

and MAYBE instead of victim blaming trans people for responding to something transphobic, cis people could take responsibility for their actions for once in their god damn lives and instead of moaning about how trans people make being an ally so hard and how all of you should listen to cis people 24/7 :’( you could actually maybe LEARN from the experience and not do something considered offensive??

and wow MAYBE when the anons meant “you know nothing of our struggle” they meant the struggle of being a trans person in a society which taunts and demeans and kills and rapes trans people every day???? JUST MAYBE

LMFAO it’s “cisgender” not “cisgendered” - just goes to show how little any of you know about gender

btw i’m talking to you OP: if you’re not a trans woman, you’re NOT allowed to use the t-slur, no matter if you mean it as in ‘well i was just portraying someone saying it’, you bunch of transphobes

also fuckyou for saying “trans people are scared to tell people they’re trans because other trans people are cunts” when THAT’S NOT THE FUCKING REASON AT ALL! they are frightened of cis people, who have been known to KILL and RAPE trans people oh my fucking god

tl;dr: cisphobia doesn’t exist, everyone who reblogged this without critique know nothing about what systematic oppression actually is and equate it with bullying, and all of you are transphobic congratulations

I’m sick of people wrongly defining bisexuality. It’s not ‘attraction to both men and women’ it’s about being attracted to ‘bi’ things like bicycles, binoculars, bilinguals and binary coding smh

Typical of pro-life crisis pregnancy centers, the Pregnancy Resource Center of Southwest Oklahoma gets every single fact wrong, citing nothing but outdated articles and other anti-abortion websites and organizations.

Tulsa OK 1921: US Government Bombs US City

National Guard troops patrolling the streets armed. Thousands of black people held in a convention center. Hundreds of black dead, with bodies piled like wood. That was not New Orleans, that was Tulsa, Oklahoma, in June 1921.On May 30, 1921 a young black man named Dick Rowland, stumbled into a white woman, while entering an elevator. He was accused of assault, and arrested the next day. Newly rich from oil Tulsa, was a Ku Klux Klan town. Rowland was sentenced to be hanged. The Tulsa Tribune called for a “Negro lynching tonight.”The white mob was surprised when they were met by several dozen armed black men, dressed in their World War I uniforms. This led to a racist three day destruction of the black neighborhood of Greenwood. The Red Cross reported 300 mostly dead black people.Greenwood called “Little Africa,” was a relatively wealthy community. White mobs, many deputized, destroyed every house, store, church or school. The mob met resistance from an armed black population. Governor Robertson declared martial law. The National Guard arrived with machine gun mounted trucks, and airplanes hovering over Greenwood. It was the first time an American city was bombed from the air, by the US government.Over 6,000 black people, were round up and held in the convention center and fairgrounds, as long as eight days. The homeless were shuttled into a tent city, where typhoid and malnutrition took over. Blacks were allowed out of the convention center, with a tag, with an employers name. Thosands fled the city.Attempts to turn Greenwood into an industrial zone were unsuccessful. For several years, it was deprived of paved streets, running water, and garbage collection.See: Tulsa Reparations Coalition and thank you to Internationalist Group for presenting this story in your newspaper.

iknwrite said: In the past stories of Black former slaves who 'chose' to stay with their former masters after they were freed was used to highlight the assumed innate subservience of black people and to push the idea that slavery wasn't so bad. Plus in a world that saw you as nothing more than a slave how many options did you really have? It's offensive for people to use her 'choice' as justification for ignoring how problematic that character is. They need to just not.

The commodification of higher education is absurd and out of control. It’s used as a way to maintain class structures and is horrifically inefficient. #captialismfail.

Note:Please DO NOT spam this survey. We had four identical answers (including the same spelling error in the notes). You are not helping us, or yourself (with those we share the information with), by spamming this survey. These duplicates will be dropped completely.

We have decided to extend the survey to allow 1,500 responses. Thank you for all of your time and energy. This will be the final cap.

Our survey has 624 spaces left , as of 12:51 PM, EST.

KNOWhomo:

This survey is set for 1,000 responses (max). In the first 24 hours, we’ve had 708 of you share your insight. It looks like we will cap out this evening. If you’d like to participate, we recommend sooner than later. Also, if you run an LGBTQ* website and feel you have friends, family, and followers who may provide their own time, it’s not to late to share this and get credited in the graphics at the end of the month.

Keep On, Keeping On! - Rebecca

KNOWhomo’s Quarterly Survey

After a gathering with friends last month, we started to discuss what “labels” we use when describing ourselves to our peers and other members of the LGBTQ* family. There was also discussion about terms that are slowly disappearing from our lexicon (or evolving into a more inclusive term).

The KNOWhomo.tumblr Team would love your insight and we have created a brief survey (3 questions in length).

The survey is anonymous but we ask that you answer it sincerely. We also ask that if you are comfortable sharing the link with your peers, please do so. We would like to break 1000 individuals and create a Tumblr KNOWhomo series of graphs/infographs. We can only do this with your help.

If you are a prominent Tumblr page (representing the LGBTQ* community, not a personal page), PM us your page so we can credit those who get the information out.

Keep On, Keeping On!

Bi Tumblr - please fill this out. This is a short survey consisting of only 3 questions. It’s important to let them know that we’re out there.

So here’s what knowhomo chose to add to their post after my reblog

Note:Please DO NOT spam this survey. This survey is NOT to represent a group of people who feel underrepresented on Tumblr. We are trying to pull the KNOWhomo family and those who visit our blog together to learn more about your preference in SELF identification.

Here’s why this is biphobic:

  • They’re presuming that they have little to no bisexual followers.
  • They’re presuming that Bi Tumblr and KnowHOMO followers are not an intersecting population, so that addressing a post to Bi Tumblr means “taking it outside”.
  • They have no desire to be accountable to their erasure of bi people and bisexuality from their blog, and the resultant marginalization of bi people in their readership.
  • By changing the post as they have, they are actively discouraging bi people from answering the survey.
  • Which reinforces the marginalization going on on their blog.
  • And which is the exact opposite of how they’re supposed to respond to this situation, which is outreach and encouragement.
  • That’s a fucking shame.
  • Not to mention shameful.

WHAT THE FUCKING FUCK
